Start in Corps and climb directly to Notre-Dame de La Salette sanctuary, in the heart of the Beaumont mountain pastures. The view over the area of Corps, Obiou and Dévoluy are stunning!
Leave the small town of Corps on the Route Napoléon towards Gap.
Turn left at the crossroads towards La SaletteFallavaux/Notre-Dame de La Salette.
Carry on to the sanctuary via a long but gradual ascent through mountain pastures. La Salette sanctuary is definitely worth going the extra mile, whether you are religious or not! Perched at an altitude of 1,800 metres, surrounded by Beaumont mountain pastures, it offers a magnificent view of the Corps area and the Dévoluy massif. The site is serene and relaxing, ideal for recharging your batteries. Construction of the sanctuary began in 1852, where two local children guarding sheep reported an apparition of the Virgin Mary. It is now the second most popular place for pilgrims in France, after Lourdes.
