La Bérarde is a legendary name for mountaineers and climbers. The route from Bourg-d'Oisans valley is absolutely picturesque.
Start in Le Clapier d'Auris hamlet. Take the D530 to La Bérarde, through Venosc and Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans.
The climb follows the Vénéon mountain stream, cooling at least your eyes! Stop at Saint Christophe en Oisans la Ville to visit the small cemetery where famous mountaineers are buried, and the mountaineering museum just opposite. And don't miss Café de la Cordée, a local monument.
